Transformation Deal
Allianz Health Insurance, Germany, the major health insurer, has appointed Pegasystems to deliver its Pega 7 rules-based technology as a central layer in a program aimed at giving its customer base a fuller and more comprehensive digital service. Allianz is a provider with assets of over €30 billion and currently provides insurance for 2.5 million people in Germany. The company believes that the new system is needed to ensure that the changing needs of the customers continue to be met whilst also guaranteeing high levels of reliability, stability, and security.
The two companies have released a statement expressing the hope that the new integration will enable Allianz a smooth data flow between the insurance professional core systems and agile customer applications. The net result should be a speedier transaction processing time, with greater automation of processes. Dr. Birgit König, the CEO of Allianz Health Insurance said “As an insurance company, we need IT systems that are stable and reliable. However, as a company focussed upon our customers, we must also balance that need with the ability to remain fast and agile and able to meet the evolving demands of clients."

This week, the healthcare sector was placed under the spotlight at the Pegasystems user conference, Pegaworld, in Las Vegas. Pega also announced a new deal with Phillips, which is designed to facilitate the connected devices and confidential data of managed care service providers and accountable care organizations, with the aim of improving health outcomes and standards of personal care. Pega Care Management Application Pegasystems will integrate the Pega Care Management System to the Phillips Healthsuite cloud platform.
