Main Tower
This is one of the top tourist attractions in whole Frankfurt. There is no other place that will provide you with a spectacular picturesque view of the city’s skyline, 650ft high. The Main Tower was named after the German river Main which runs through the city center. You can also enjoy the panoramic view while dining at the restaurant or having some drinks at the bar.
The Goethe House
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, one of Germany’s most important writers. Goethe’s house was originally destroyed during World War II, however, it was completely restored as closely to its original condition and furniture, offering an insight of Goethe’s wealthy life back in the 18th century.
The Römerberg
Also known as the Roman Mountain. The Römerberg is the historic heart for Frankfurt, dating back to the 15th century. Back in the past, this square was used to be the Frankfurt’s first place for trade fairs. Furthermore, the Römerberg is a popular location for the outdoor Christmas Market.
Paulskirche
This is also known as St Paul’s Church, which was built in central Frankfurt, between 1789 and 1833. The church was used for political meetings and eventually became the seat of the first freely elected Frankfurt Parliament, back in 1848. This church is an important political symbol and nowadays it is no longer used as a church but instead used as a venue for events.
Museumsufer
This location is also known as the Museum Riverbank, for the reason that along this river there is a high concentration of some of Frankfurt’s best museums; including the Städel Museum and the German Film Museum. Apart from the museums, on Saturdays this MUseumsufer is home to Frankfurts’ largest flea market.
Shopping Street Zeil
If you enjoy shopping, make sure you visit Zeil. This is the premier location for shopping, offering anything from humungous shopping centers, international chains and smaller chic boutiques. Whatever you need, you will find it in Zeil!
Palmengarten
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and visit the Palmengarten. It is one of two botanical gardens in Frankfurt, covering a surface of 22 hectares. The Palmengarten offers a horticultural adventure from the African Savanna, going to the exotic plants of the rain forests to flower gardens in Europe.
